One of the important objectives of the Causeway Programme is to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the criminal justice processes, not just automate the current manual processes. During the business process workshops the CJO delegates redesigned the processes on the premise that information will be shared electronically. They also identified further benefits that could be gained by making some changes to legislation and policy to work in tandem with the electronic information sharing. Causeway is now taking forward these changes on behalf of the CJOs.
